On January 13, 2016 at 5:05 AM the tire marks of our beloved Yolonda Rogers Williams were summoned to come on home to be with our Lord and Savior.
Yolonda Rogers Williams was born on August 15, 1975 at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York to the loving parents of Charles Cummings, who she went to be with, and Lottie Rogers Davis.
Yolonda graduated for Clara Barton High School in Brooklyn, New York. She continued her education at several universities. After graduation she attended NYU majoring in Pre-Med. Then she moved south and attended Francis Marion University for a year. Then she moved back up north where she continued her education while working at the post office in Manhattan, New York. She worked as a Carrier Supervisor and from there she became a Post Master for ten years. Yolonda became ill and she had to retire. When she retired she was a Tax Supervisor. Yolonda was a hard working young lady and always wanted the finer thing in life. She loved to travel and have fun. In spite of all of her sickness she always tried to lend a helping hand.
Yolonda’s legacy and strength will live on through her loving husband: Thomas Williams of Middleton, NY; her son: Gavin Williams of Middleton, NY; one stepson: Jason Williams of Brooklyn, NY; her loving mother: Lottie Rogers Davis of Warwick, NY; one sister: Zenovia Davis Anderson of Georgetown, SC; one sister-in-law; Pamela Williams of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; on dear uncle: Charlie (Jackie) Rogers of Mullins, SC; two aunts: Ozella Pressley and Janie (Curtis) Taylor both of Britton’s Neck, SC; three nephews: Delvin, Elvin and Virgil Anderson of Georgetown, SC and an abundance of cousins, friends and other relatives. Yolonda has two cousins that she adored and looked up to as mentors: Tyrone Wayner and Ricky Cummings.
