Saul Howard Obituary

~ The Obituary ~

Mr. Saul Douglas Howard, son of the late Earl Howard and Lucille Smith Howard was born in Mullins, South Carolina. He briefly attended school in Mullins and evolved into a man of his own who accepted his personal responsibilities. He enjoyed working at the Salvation Army in Washington, D.C. and as a custodian with the DC Public School System.

Saul was a man that had no boundaries and loved traveling to New York City, Ocean City, New Jersey and Winston Salem, North Carolina to visit family. Washington, D.C. and Mullins, South Carolina were the places he called home. At will, Saul would jump on the Greyhound and go where ever he wanted to go. He loved walking around the city and would walk you until your feet couldn’t take anymore. He lived a carefree life and had a motto of “telling it like it is”!

Saul was known by many but his dearest friends were Wesley of Washington, D.C. and Carl, a native of Marion, South Carolina whom he met in Ocean City, New Jersey.

His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his siblings: Earl (Lourdes) Howard, Earline Howard Hickman, and Martha Howard all of Washington, D.C. and Cleo Howard (Leon) Phillips of Mullins, South Carolina, Lendell Howard (deceased), Oneal Howard (deceased), Willie Howard (deceased), Harold Howard (deceased), Allen Howard (deceased), Billy Joe Howard (deceased), and James Walter Howard (deceased); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
