Sarah Wingate

     Sarah M. Wingate, born January 27, 1921 to the late Greene Lewis and Rebecca Owens Lewis of Mullins, South Carolina. She departed this life at home on the morning of November 17, 2016.

     She gave her life to Christ at an early age where she joined Effingham Missionary Baptist Church in Mullins, South Carolina. She faithfully served on the usher board ministry and other committees. She received an award in recognition of her services. Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of life. Revelation 2:10 (KJ).

     She was educated in Marion County Public Schools. She was employed in the agricultural industry and by southern packing and Mullins Leaf Tobacco Factory.

     Sarah M. Lewis was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mackay Wingate (who preceded her in death). To this union two children were born, one daughter, Mattie Wingate Patrick and one son, the late Robert Frank Wingate (who preceded her in death); one grandson also preceded her in death, Thomas Bell, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one devoted daughter: Mattie Wingate Patrick; a devoted daughter-in-law: Margaret Wingate; fifteen grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
