Sadie Johnson Obituary

~ The Obituary ~   

    Mrs. Sadie Johnson departed her life on June 7, 2025. She was born to the late Willie and Lou Davis in Britton’s Neck, South Carolina on October 10, 1931. She was the 4th child out of 6 children. Four children preceded her in death.

    She was educated at Bethel School in Britton’s Neck, South Carolina. Se worked hard all of her life, from the farm to the plants, especially So-Pak-Co. She loved sewing and making quilts and planting a garden.

    At an early age, Mrs. Sadie committed her life to Christ and became a member of Bethel AME Church in Britton’s Neck. Later she met and married Elder Lacy Johnson and served as 1st Lady of Mt. Carmel Pentecost Holiness Church in Fairmont, North Carolina and joined the Sandy Grove Holiness Church in Marion until the passing of her husband on December 31, 1990. Whereas she resumed her membership at Bethel AME Church until her passing.

    From the martial union of Lacy and Sadie, four children were born, Melissa (Charles) Dozier, Lacy, Jr. (Tanzania) Johnson, Reverend Frederick (Lorrie) Johnson, Charles (Claudia) Johnson; twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren. She took pleasure in being a part of the lives of seven stepchildren. Whereas six of them preceded her in death and one remains, Marion Caliman. Whereas she shared her love with many of their offsprings; one sister: Irene Rogers and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
