Roberta Young Jenkins

~ The Obituary ~

      Mrs. Roberta Jenkins, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James H. Youngs was born on August 1, 1931 in the Duford Community of Horry County. She departed this life on December 4, 2015 at home, peacefully in her sleep.

     She was joined in Holy Wedlock to the late Mr. Allen Jenkins, a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War, on September 8, 1956 at eh Audubon Ballroom in New York City.

     She leaves to cherish her memory two devoted sisters: Mrs. Alfreda Hamer of Nichols, SC and Mrs. Loretta Smith of Jamaica, NY; two very special uncles: Mr. Braxton Stackhouse of Suitland, MD and Mr. James Tart of Nichols, SC a loving aunt, Mrs. Marge Stackhouse of Nichols, SC; her best friend: Mrs. Addie Williams of Jamaica, NY and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

     A doting aunt, she is survived by her beloved nieces and nephews: Rodney Youngs and Lydia M. Youngs of FL, Frank Jackson, Jr., Carletta A. Robinson and Gail Denise McField, all of MD, Dean Fullard of SC, Michelle Farr of Arverne, NY, David Smith of NJ, Jeanette Grantham of Jamaica, NY, Craig Stephen Hamer of VA, Elizabeth Ann Stafford of Brooklyn, NY and loving nieces-in-law: Jackie Youngs, Angella Hamer and Judy Fuller.

     The family also wishes to acknowledge her loving and devoted 24 hour shift personal care aides: Chantel Gregory of Jamaica, NY, Galeann Madramootoo of Richmond Hill, NY and Tamecqa Beckford of Laurelton, NY.
