Richard Joe Gause (Bobby) 75, of Mullins SC went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at McLeod Hospital in Florence SC.
Bobby, as he was affectionately called, was born to Richard Joe Gause, Sr. and Margaret S. Gause on October 5, 1944 in Mullins, S.C. Bobby parents moved north to seek employment and he was left to be reared by his grand-parents Rench and Madge Smith.
Bobby attended Palmetto Elementary School and graduated from Palmetto High School in 1965.
Upon graduation he moved to Connecticut with his parents to seek employment and a better Life. Bobby was a gentle loving person that loved to dress, loved his hats and left a lasting impression on all that knew him.
He was employed at Remington Arms/Dupont of Bridgeport Connecticut and worked there until he retired. Bobby was requested by Remington Arms/ Dupont to relocate to Little Rock, AK to assist in training the employees for several year until returning back to Mullins. Bobby worked at Franco Brothers manufacturing company and Larry Smith Cooper Funeral Home in Mullins until his health started to fail.
While living in Connecticut, Bobby was a member of Russell Temple CME Church in Bridgeport. Once moving back to Mullins, Bobby reunited with New Ebenezer AME Church, He served as Trustee and Steward; past member of the male chorus, a life time member of Palmetto Masonic Lodge # 397, Associate Patron of Palmetto Chapter # 262 Order of the Eastern Stars, Member of NAACP and Democratic Party for many years.
Bobby leaves to cherish fond memonies: his devoted wife Carolyn D. Gause; two loving daughters: Peggie Brown of Anniston, Alabama and Kristeener Jones of Beaufort, South Carolina; one Godson Wesley Robinson (Maria) of Milford, Connecticut; Sisters-in-Law: Diane Goodman (Steve), Glenda Gerald (Huey), Rita Pitts (Tyrone) and Daphne Donnelly; Brothers-in-Law: Doug Jefferies (Karen), Ronald Donnelly (Mary), Alton Donnelly, Malcolm Donnelly, Randy Donnelly (Charlayne), & Craig Donnelly (Lisa); three grandchildren: Shakil Gause, Zhania Jones of Beaufort, SC and Kennedy Byrd of Anniston, AL; a special life time friend Richard Harris and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; Richard and Margaret Gause, Brother’s Lee Daniel & William Gause.
