Nathaniel Crawford, Jr. was born to the late Eva Robinson and Nathaniel Crawford, Sr. on June 5, 1938. Nathaniel was fondly known as “Soul Man”.
Nathaniel was educated through the Marion County School System. He was raised in the Zion Community where he lived, loved and cherished.
Nathaniel was a man of great statue. He was a protector and a true provided. He was a retiree from the City of Mullins after the 20 years of service. He worked 35 years as a chef at Little Pee Dee Lodge, Nichols, South Carolina
Over 50 years age God touched and changed Nathaniel’s life at House of God Holiness Church, Mullins, South Carolina. That one touch changed his life for the better and forever. He was a member of True Faith Deliverance Temple under the leadership of Bishop L. Williams, where he served with the Men’s Department.
Nathaniel was a family man. He loved and cherished his grands, and great-grands with all his heart.
Nathaniel was preceded in death by his parents: Eva Robinson, Nathaniel Crawford, Sr.; his wife of over 50 years, Deborah Pompey Crawford; one brother: Bert Crosland; one sister: Glaceria Owens.
Nathaniel leaves to cherish his memories, three daughters: Elaine (Weldon) Davis of Mullins, SC, Eva Crawford of Mullins, SC, and Lorraine Crawford of the home; one son: Lee (Juanita) Crawford of Mullins, SC; four granddaughters: Miriam Crawford, JerriotteCrawford of Mullins, SC, Kwan Duncan of Florence, SC, LeAnna Crawford of Columbia, SC and Shantayl Crawford of Florence, SC; one grandson: Lee Crawford, Jr. of Norfolk, VA; great-grands: Mariah Platt-Crawford, Jada Platt-Crawford, Aubianna Brown, Amri Staley, Jaltara Jordon, Miles Crawford, JakyleCrawford, Ezekiel Gearld, Rozier Jordon; two sisters-in-law: Carylon Pompey of Baltimore, MD and Betty Pompey of Mullins, SC; six children bonded by love not by blood: Ella (Levester) Williams, Ann Pagie, Bridgett (Jamaal) Stackhouse, Tammi Lewis, Eddie Byrd and Terry Pompey and host of nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
