Mary Montgomery

      Mary Ellen (Frank) Montgomery was born in Clarendon County, SC to the proud parents of Aaron Frank and Viola Johnson Frank on January 21, 1927.

     She departed her earthly life on March 16, 2015 at her home, 11:15 AM. She received her education in the public schools of Clarendon County.

     She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late John Henry (Preston) Montgomery. In her early childhood she was a member of the Oaks AME Church, St. Paul, SC. During the early 60’s she moved to Horry County where she became a member of the Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful member until her health failed. She was a member of the church, missionary ministry, usher, youth treasurer, sang on the senior choir and the WWHY Club.

     She is preceded in death by her husband John Henry (Preston) Montgomery, one daughter: Mary Lee Montgomery Robinson; one son: Darnel Montgomery; 3 sisters: Stella Walker, Rosa Lee Watson, Bertha Boatwright; 3 brothers: Joseph Frank, Jack Frank and Trolley Lee Frank. She was a loving and sharing mother that will be missed by all who knew her.

     Fond memories are embedded into the hearts of her survivors: a brother: Aaron Frank, Sr. of Brooklyn, NY; six sons and five daughters: Lawerence (Willie Mae) Boatwright, Long Island, NY; John Edward Montgomery, Utica, NY, General Lee Montgomery, Loris, SC, Harry Lee (Dorothy) Montgomery, Nichols, SC, Joseph Montgomery (Linda Gause) Winston Salem, NC, David Montgomery, Nichols, SC, Sarah Robinson, East Orange, NJ, Blondell (Thelbert) Gore, Nichols, SC, Omeia Marible, Winston Salem, NC, Maxine (Donell) McIntyre, Nichols, SC, Connie Reaves, Winston Salem, NC, forty-five grandchildren, ninety-seven great grands, six great-great grands and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
