Mary Cooper James

     Mrs. Mary Cooper James departed this life at her earthly home to be with her Heavenly Father on April 15, 2016.

     She was born in Lake City, South Carolina to the late Elder York Cooper and Willie Mae Cooper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Abraham James; a son: Amos Cooper; three brothers: H. L. Cooper, James Earl Cooper and David Cooper, Jr.

      She attended the public schools of Florence County. She worked as part of the dietary department of Florence General and Carolina Hospital Systems for 30 years until her retirement.

     Mary often attended and was an active participant of the Lake City Senior Center. She was well loved by her neighbors and friends.

     Her acknowledgement of Christ began at an early age due to a profound spiritual family upbringing which continued throughout her precious journey through life.

Brian (Barbara) Cooper of Loris, SC, Kershawn Cooper of the home, Craeshawn Cooper of Florence, SC; three brothers: Latson Cooper of Florence, SC, Woodrow (Janie) Cooper of Chicago, IL and Rev. Dr. Robert B. Cooper, Sr. of Mullins, SC; four step children: Lillie Mae (Henry) Timmons of Florence, SC, Janie Mae James of Florence, SC, Abraham (Sharon) James of Florence, SC , Charles James of Florence, SC; six grandchildren: Cory (Cobia) Cooper of Nesmith, SC, Laquasha Cooper of Florence, SC, Travis Cooper, Bryon Major of Lake City, SC, Craeshawn Cooper, Jr. of Troy, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
