Mary Frances Brown, affectionately known as “Kay” was born on May 14, 1949 at Mullins Hospital in Mullins, South Carolina to Lillie Irene Brown and the late James Brown.
She departed this earthly life on Monday, March 15, 2021 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Florence, South Carolina.
“Kay” was preceded in death by her father: James Brown, a baby sister: Bertha Mae Brown and two nephews: Londell and Pedro Brown and one great niece.
“Kay” attended public school in Lake View, South Carolina and she graduated with the Lake View High School Class of 1971. After completing high school, she entered the workforce and worked until she retired to care for her mother.
“Kay” joined Little Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Lake View where she was a member of the Adult Choir.
She was married twice.
“Kay” leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to her mother, Lillie Irene Brown of the home; three brothers and three sisters-in-law: James McArthur (Doris Jean) Brown of Mullins, SC, Henry Lee (Rosa) Brown of Lake View, SC and William Howard (Lula) Brown of Fayetteville, NC; three aunts: Marcella Brown of Nichols, SC, Margie Brown and Grace Brown of Albany, NY; five nieces: Leisa Brown, Regina (Shannon) Carter, Donna (Anton) Stewart, Hope (Artif) Williams and Dara Brown; nine great-nieces; three great-nephews and a caretaker who became her surrogate daughter: Harriet McFarland of Marion, SC and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
