Mary L. Bethea

“The Life I Live, Will Speak for Me”

    Mary Louise Bethea was born on December 10, 1935 to the late Ida and Gary Braddy in Mullins, South Carolina.

    Louise, as she was affectionately known, attended the public schools of Marion County. She was a member of Everbee Baptist Church where she served faithfully on the Senior Missionary and Senior Choir.

    Louise was married to the late George Bethea, Jr. This union was blessed with one daughter, Annie Marie Bethea, whom preceded them in death. Annie Marie had two sons: Christopher Bethea and Kevin Bethea, whom Louise raised as her very own.

    In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by her sisters: Henretta Davis, Frances Stackhouse and Earlie Mae Bryant; also brothers: Dave Braddy, Herbert Lee Braddy, Frank Braddyand Gary Braddy Jr.

    Louise leaves to cherish her two sons: Christopher Bethea of Mullins, SC and Kevin Bethea of Mullins, SC; grandkids: Daniel Gerald, Lateesha Cooper, Jourdan Betheaand Devyn Bethea; four great-grandchildren; three sisters: Ida Herbert of Waterbury, CT, Florence Hendley of Mullins, SC and Barbara Braddy of Columbia, SC; one brother: Daniel (Larene) of Lakeworth, FL and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
