Lacie Bacchus

Mr. Lacie Bacchus, son of the late Sidney and Mazarine Bacchus, was born April 16, 1944 in Britton’s Neck, South Carolina. He departed this life on Friday, August 21, 2015 in McLeod Regional Hospital in Florence, South Carolina.
Lacie joined Bethel AME Church at an early age and later accepted Christ as his personal savior. He graduated from Bethel High School in 1963 and attended Allen University.
He worked in many capacities in his lifetime; SoPacko, Dubois, and Sara Lee from which he retired after 30 years of service. Lacie was “Jack of Many Trades”; carpenter, mechanic, auto salesman and his most passionate skill was barbering which he crafted for 49 years. After working at Friendly Barbershop in Mullins, SC he became an entrepreneur and established Lacie’s Country Barbershop in the early 80’s.
Lacie is preceded in death by his parents: Sidney and Mazarine Bacchus; sisters: Remell and Tincey; brothers: Joe Louis and Preston; and granddaughter: Kimona.
Lacie was joined in Holy Matrimony to the former Juanita Rogers and to this union three children were born.
He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories his wife of 47 years Juanita R. Bacchus; children: Deciera Gause of Britton’s Neck, SC, Sid (Dorlisa) Bacchus of Columbia, SC, Kimberly (Stanley) Brown of Columbia, SC; a niece that was raised in the home; Frances (Steve) Rogers of Brooklyn, NY; five grandchildren: Danequa, Quintel, Tiera, Demonte’ and Sid, II; one sister: Lucenia Davis; one brother: Jake Hemingway; sisters-in-law: Refrances Bacchus, Mamie (Malikiah) Rogers, Barbara (Willie) Gause, Dorothy Anderson, Lou Pearl Legette, Truly Woodberry, Eloise Finklea, Regina (Billy) Rogers, and Irene Rogers; brothers-in-law: Ernest Legette and Clyde Crosland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
