John Vandroff Obituary

~ The Obituary ~

John Earl Vandroff was born June 9, 1948 in Marion County to the late James Vandroff and Alice Richardson. He departed his life on December 24, 2018 in Mullins, SC. He received his early education in the South Carolina School System. John had four brothers that preceded him in death and one sister. John was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church where he came to know the Lord as his Personal Savior. He would always tell people that you must know God for yourself and that no one knows what’s in anyone’s heart but God, so never judge anyone.

John was a resident of South Carolina all his life. He was united in marriage on October 16, 1971 with Marolyn Delores Campbell. To this union three children were born.

John was a hard worker and ever since he was a teenager, he was busy doing something. He joined the Army National Guard, served time in the US Army and then spent most of his years driving trucks. In addition to this, John was a certified welder, a very good mechanic, a musical engineer, and loved cooking and fishing. John also did the best he could to try to help others no matter how big or small.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Marolyn; three children: Sylvia Vandroff of SC, Latonina Vandroff of NC and Christopher Vandroff of NC; three sisters: Mary Lamb of NY, Pearlene Gilchrist of NY and Sallie Vandroff of SC; four sisters-in-law, Mary Barringer-Vandroff of NC; Evelyn Mace of SC, Carolyn Gilchrist of NC and Bevelyn Horne of SC; four brothers-in-law: Roosevelt Lamb of NY, Marion Campbell of SC, Benjamin Horne of SC and Jimmy Gilchrist of NC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends whom were very special to him.

Whether you knew him as John, “King John” or “Brother Vandroff”, he is going to solely be missed in all our hearts as it’s not every day that you get to meet a person that is genuine, kind, funny and has such a giving heart. To know John was to love him.
