James Willie Jones was born July 7, 1947 to the late Ristone Jones and Alma Brigmon. He was educated with the public school systems of Marion County, graduating from Palmetto High School in 1965. After high school, James attended Florence Darlington Technical College where he graduated with a degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. James joined the Army in 1967 where he served during the Vietnam War. Later, he joined the National Guard in 1974 where he retired in 1996 as Sergeant. He worked for AVM in Mullins, South Carolina for 33 years as a lead supervisor in maintenance. He also had his very own appliance business for more than 40 years. James was a kind individual that helped anyone in need. He was a beloved father, husband, uncle, brother, and friend. He will be missed dearly.
James is survived by his wife, Carrie H. Jones of Nichols; one daughter: Melissa M. Jones of Atlanta, GA; one son: Myron Jones of Atlanta, GA; one granddaughter: Chloe M. Jones of Atlanta, GA; one brother: Randolph (Barbara) Jones of Lake View, SC; three sisters: Lena Mae (Edward) Ford; ParticiaAnn (Larry) Legette, Ruby (Frank) Grant; one brother-in-law: Harold Owens of Nichols; one sister-in-law: Patricia Owens of Mullins, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends and loved ones.
