Hazel Carter Obituary

~The Obituary ~

 Mrs. Hazel Lean Gore Carter was called home Monday, June 21, 2021. She was born on July 17, 1952 to Cisroe and Mazie Gore. She attended Horry County public schools. She was a member of Hill Chapel Baptist Church of Nichols, South Carolina.

     Hazel served in the Army for twenty-three years where she was awarded the National Bronze Star, National Service Metal and Marksmanship Badge. Then she went on to work fourteen years on the base of Fort Jackson after retirement. She loved being among kids and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Hazel was a hard working woman and love working out in the yard.

     She was preceded in death by her mother: Mazie Gore; father: Cisroe Gore; three brothers: Charles Gore, Thelbert Gore and Ellis Gore and one sister: Ester Bright. 

     Hazel leaves to cherish a special friend she loved dearly, Frank Black; two sisters: Cathy Gore of Brookllyn, NY and Estell (Silas) Brown of Mullins, SC; three brothers: Larry (Gearldine) Gore of Green Sea, SC, Grait (Shelby) Gore of Kingston, TN and Thomas (Sherry) Gore of Bayboro, SC; sister-in-law: Blondell Gore; adopted sister: Lenora Gerald; God-daughter: Eva Mae Luckey; nephews: Lavance Carter and Jarmine Allen that she raised as her own; special friend: Sarah Carter and a host of nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
