Glaceria Owens Obituary

~ Life of Reflection ~

    Sister Glaceria Owens made her transition from this life on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at The Palms Nursing Facility in Florence, South Carolina. She was born to the late Sarah Owens-Davis and the late Nathaniel Crawford, Sr. She was raised by her special adopted mother, Mother Gladys Owens on September 22, 1953. She was born and raised in Mullins, South Carolina and attended Marion County Public Schools where she graduated from Mullins High School in 1971. After high school, she was employed with Russell Stovers Candy Plant for over twenty years until her retirement.

    Sister Glaceria Owens found Christ at an early age. She tarried around the alter until she was filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. She started her spiritual journey at Progressive Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Inc., Mullins, South Carolina. She later sat under her uncle’s leadership, the late Bishop Earnest Finkley, The Apostolic Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Florence, South Carolina; Bishop Lester Williams, True Faith Deliverance Temple, Mullins, South Carolina and the late Bishop R.F. Davis, The Greater Highway Church of Christ, Marion, South Carolina. As a faithful servant, she held many positions including Sunday School Teacher, Usher, Choir Member, Hospitality Department Member, Pastors Aide Department Member, and in any other areas she was needed.

    Sister Glaceria Owens was preceded in death by her mother: Sarah Owens, father: Nathaniel Crawford, Sr.; her special adopted mother: Mother Gladys Owens; her sister: Mary Jane Davis and one brother: Willie Edward Davis.

    She leaves her loving memories with her cousins whom she loved dearly: Flora Owens Allison, Kenneth Allison, Pamela Owens-Joliceur, Carla Owens-Martin, Cierra Martin, Cliff (Mary) Owens, Annette (John) Evans, Michelle Owens-Lawhorn all of New York; Earnestine (Bishop J.A. Deas) Deas, Carol (Issac) Nixon, Tony Finkley, Karibean Finkley, Michael Finkley and Rakeya Elleby, special confidants: Evone Legette and Eartha Brockington and all other relatives and friends.
