Geneva Bacchus Willisdeparted this life on November 16,2019 in Britton’s Neck, South Carolina. She was the eldest daughter of eleven children of the late Lindsey and Mae Bell Bacchus. Eight siblings preceded her in death: Lindsey, Jr., Graham, Joe, Preston, Mary, Ashmon, Josh and Babygirl Bacchus.
Geneva Bacchus Willisreceived her education at Bethel School in Britton’s Neck, South Carolina. At an early age, she was converted and became a member of Bethel AME Church where she was a faithful and loyal member until her health declined.
Geneva was a joy to be around and had a gentle, kind and giving spirit. She was married to the late Walter Willis for 54 years and their union was blessed with seven children. Three preceded her in death: Luther, Goldie and James.\
Loving memories of her life will be cherished and held deeply by her four children: Earlene (Freddie) Graves, Helen (George) Hemingway, Charlie Lee (Mary) Willis and Curlene Hemingway all of Britton’s Neck, SC; two sisters: Candice Conyers of Pamplico, SC and Carrie (Alfred) Boatwright of Stratford, CT; thirty-one grandchildren, sixty-three great grandchildren and thirty-four great-great grandchildren; she loved all of her nieces and nephews and most time spent was with Juliana Moore and Edward Bacchus; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
