Eugene Bennett

~ The Obituary ~

    Eugene Lester Bennett, 64 years old, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025 at home in Rochester, New York.

    Eugene was born February 19, 1961 in Columbus County, Whiteville, North Carolina Hospital, to James B. Bennett and Donella Graves Bennett.

    Eugene loved landscaping and fixing vehicles. He worked at Whitney Auto Service in Rochester, New York as a mechanic. Eugenehelped others in their garden and landscapedtheir lawn. He was a people person, met no strangers. Eugene started his job as a handy man where he spreaded his skills helping in his surrounding area.

    Eugene was preceded in death by his father, James B. Bennett; six brothers: J.C. Grace, James Charles Bennett, Sylvester Bennett, Roger Earl Bennett, Marvin Earl Bennett and unborn Bennett; two sisters: Vera Mae Bennett Hemingway and unborn Bennett. 

    Eugene is survived by his mother, Donella Graves Bennett of Fair Bluff, NC; one son: James DeShawn Jackson; one daughter: Ebony Eugenia Jackson of Bronx, NY; two brothers: Ronald Grace (Annie Perry) of Brooklyn, NY and Charles Edward Bennett (Carol Coward) of Thomasville, NC; one sister: Tammie Bennett Rutledge of Chadbourn, NC; six grandchildren; a grand host of nieces, cousins, nephews, family and friends. Eugene’s special friend/family: William and Sharon Pieper of Rochester, NY.
