    Denise Joyce McClellan, was born October 23, 1953 and departed this life on February 9, 2023 at McLeod Regional Hospital in Florence,

South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her mother Aleathea McClain; father: Lawrence Gilchrist; brother: Robert L. McClain and husband: Franklin D. McClellan.

    Denise was educated in the ColumbusSchool System for 11 grades and graduatedfrom Lake View High School in Lake View,South Carolina. She moved to Bridgeport,Connecticut and worked in retail and retired in the position of District Manager. She returned to Lake View after retirement and settled with family and friends.

     Denise was known as “Dennis” to family and friends whom she enjoyed dearly. She re-affirmed her membership to Union AME Church, where she attended faithfully and joined many mission ministries.

    She leaves to cherish fond memories, three sisters: Eula Jean Page of Laurel, MD, Stephanie McClain and Phyllis Dixon of Lake View, SC; one brother: Lawrence (Vanessa) Brunson of Florence, SC. She will be lovingly missed by a godson, nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of other family and friends.
