Daniel Brunson

~ The Obituary ~

     Mr. Daniel Thurman Brunson, affectionally called Rat, ended his earthly journey October 19, 2018 at Carolinas Hospital System in Marion, SC after a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by his loving family when Christ Jesus welcomed him into eternal life. He was the son of the late Edward Brunson, Sr. and Minnie Weeks Ward. He was raised by his late grandparents, George Brunson and Essie Leonard Brunson. He was born March 31, 1951 in Mullins, South Carolina.

     Mr. Brunson attended the Syracuse New York Public School System. He then attended trade school and obtained his certification as an auto mechanic. He also worked as a professional truck driver, licensed commercially, Hazmat and TWIC for over 40 years until he became ill.

     He was a very quick witted man with an amazing sense of humor and had a huge heart of gold. His laughter brought a huge light to any room and though his exterior was hard, the love he had for his family, friends and loved ones was always very clear and apparent. Most importantly, he was a born again Man of God who devoted his life to the ONE he reverenced above all, Christ Jesus.

     He leaves to cherish his fond memories, his loving wife Silva Brunson; his four children: Eric Daniel Brunson (Sandra) of New Jersey, LaSonya Smith, Danita Teresa Brunson, and Kanisha Monee` Brunson all of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren: Jalen and Erica Brunson of New Jersey and Adina Brunson of Columbia, SC; one great grandson whom he affectionally called “Little Rat”, Kendrick Jordan Brunson of Columbia, SC; eleven siblings: Edward Brunson, Jr. of Mullins, SC, Essie (Nathaniel) Sanders of Baltimore, MD, Roland Weeks of Mullins, SC, Deloris (Roosevelt) Weeks of Columbia, SC, Michael (Sylvia) Weeks of Mullins, SC, Zondra (James) Weeks of Mullins, SC, Roseberry Weeks of Mullins, SC, Mark (Brenda) Weeks of Lexington, SC, Bonnie (Steve) Beverly-Mills of Raleigh, NC and Donald Brunson of Jacksonville, FL; his sister Agnes Weeks preceded him in death. He also leaves his uncles of whom he was raised with; Paul (Laura) Brunson of Edison, NJ, George, Jr. (Helen) Brunson of Syracuse, NJ and Carl Brunson of Mullins, SC; his aunt Annie Legette preceded him in death; his sole surviving aunt Betty Jen Cook of Dillon, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in- law and dear friends.
