Chryll Ronette Hughes

Chryll Ronette Hughes, age 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Loris Rehab and Nursing Center.  Ronette was a Virgo, born September 2, 1950 in Mullins, South Carolina to Claudia Mae Hughes and the late Thomas Jefferson Hughes (T.J). She was the proud mother of Teigi Renee’ Hughes.

Ronette graduated from Palmetto High School where she was a majorette and attended Allen University. She moved to Baltimore, Maryland and was employed by the United States Postal Service. Ronette also worked with mentally challenged adults, and helped to provide transportation, for those in need within in the community.

She moved back to South Carolina to be closer to family.  Ronette loved her family with all her heart. Ronette gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a member of The New Ebenezer A.M.E Church in Mullins, SC, where she was a devoted choir member. She LOVED to sing! She would sing at church programs, different venues, and especially to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ronette is preceded in death by her father Thomas Jefferson Hughes (T.J), brother Colonial Lee Hughes, and Sister Carolyn H. Hill.

Ronette is survived with loving memories by her mother, Claudia Mae Hughes, Brother, Thomas Allen Hughes, her daughter Teigi Renee’ Hughes.

Grand children: Renita Renee’ Hughes (DeShaun Nichols), Mullins, SC.  Victoria Marie Hughes, Los Angeles, CA, Teigi Koran Tyler-Hughes, Dallas, TX.  Tashan Al’Tyrek Hughes, Ennis, TX. Mya Angela Majette-Hinton, Ennis,TX., and Mariah Sade Majette-Hinton, Ennis, TX.

Great Grands: Xavier Latrell Hughes, Rodgerick Pee, Malachi Gerald, Alana Gerald, De’Karii Nichols, King Gerald, Dakota Nichols, D’asia Nichols, Nila Claudia Hughes and Dimitri Tori Roger.
