Charlie Richardson Obituary

~ The Obituary ~

Brother Charlie Lee “Ronnie” Richardson was born on April 2, 1957, in Britton’s Neck, SC.  He was born to the late Annie Bell Richardson-Woodford and James Skipper; raised by the late Frazier and Agnes Taylor- Richardson.

Charlie graduated from Britton’s Neck High School in 1978. After graduation Charlie became an employee of Wellman Industries, Inc. in Johnsonville, SC, for 27 years. After becoming ill, Charlie continued to work hard as a pillar of the communities of Britton’s Neck and Gresham, South Carolina.  Charlie was a member of Bethel AME Church, where he accepted Christ as his personal savior.

Charlie was joined in holy matrimony to Verlinear Richardson for 42 years, from this union came two daughters, Barbara and Sophia Richardson. Charlie “Ronnie” a husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend was a man that many depended on. He was loved by everyone who encountered him, because of his warm and nurturing heart. Charlie loved the Lord. This could be seen in the multitude of ways he provided for and was of service to others, both familial and foreign. Whether it was merely his time, a space to share, an item to preserve, a dish to be cooked, a veggie from his garden, or prayer; Charlie would be there. In his grandeur, he was a man of few words and many glorious works.

Charlie was preceded in death by his mother, father, both maternal and paternal grandparents; his half-sister, Angie Skipper; his twin uncles, Sam (Janet) and Colie (Mary) Richardson; his aunts, Lillie Mae Thomas, and Lola (Roosevelt) Wemple; three brothers-in-law, Paul, Jerry, and Charles Scott.

He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, his wife and two daughters, all of the home; two sisters: Trudy Pierce of Georgia and Maxine Middleton of New York; two half-sisters: Rose and Linda Williams of New Jersey; three half-brothers: Steven Brown, General Washington Skipper, and James Skipper Jr; a brother-in-law: Samuel (Gloria) Scott; five sisters-in-law: Lorraine (Shabazz) Ahmed, Pamela (Timmy G.) Bacchus, Melissa Woodberry, Pearl Scott, and Kristine Gause; two special friends who were like siblings: Jerome Dozier and Sharon Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, neighbors, and friends.

For familial relations was never a limitation for Charlie “Ronnie”; he gave of himself to numerous people in his community. He loved on, cared for, and made everlasting bonds with many individuals, both old and young. A sincere spirit of the Most High, he was our husband, father, nephew, brother, uncle, and Cousin Charlie. He was our everything and will always be “OUR Ronnie” in the hearts of many.
