The Life of Charles Lee Ward Jr.
Charles Lee Ward Jr. was born on August 7, 1948, to the late Eva Mae Floyd Johnson and the late Charles Ward Sr. He was lovingly raised by his mother, stepfather Aubry Johnson, and his grandparents William and Lossie Floyd. He departed his life peacefully at home on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
Charles was married to Sula Mae Ward. To this union, two sons were born: Charles Barry Ward (Felicia) and William Anthony Ward. He was a proud grandfather to Tiesha, Antorius, Sameria, and Zyion Ward, each of whom brought him great joy.
Charles worked as a welder for many years, providing faithfully for his family. He was a member of Silent Grove Baptist Church, but enjoyed visiting other churches before his health failed.
In his leisure time, Charles enjoyed fishing, sitting on the porch, caring for his cats, and spending time uptown in Loris talking with friends and neighbors. He was known for his friendly spirit and the simple joys he found in everyday life.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Aubry Johnson Jr., and granddaughter, Dineiciya Ward.
He leaves behind two brothers to cherish his memories: Arnold Johnson (Juvy) and James Johnson. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whom he loved dearly.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
