~ The Obituary ~
Mr. Charles Preston Allison was born on October 7, 1949, in Florence County, SC to the late Thomas Preston and Elise Mae Parker Allison. Mr. Allison was educated within the Florence County School District and completed his high school education through Job Corps. He enlisted into the U.S. Army at age nineteen and remained in the military service for nine years and at his retirement, he became a Vietnam Veteran. Upon his retirement for the military service, he was employed with Coco-Cola Manufacturing Company as a truck driver and on to over the road long-distance truck driving careers.
Mr. Allison joined St. Mark AME Church in Johnsonville, South Carolina at a very early age.
Mr. Allison joined The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Masonic Lodge of South Carolina and was a member of Riverside Lodge No. 305 and remained an active member for many years.
Mr. Allison and his wife, Wilhemenia Eaddy Allison, were joined in holy matrimony on April 19, 1973. To this union, there were two children. Mr. Allison was a hard-working provider for his family until his health failed. For the last ten years, Mr. Allison has been in a nursing home due to a brain aneurysm and memory loss.
Mr. Allison was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Preston Allison and Elise Mae Parker Allison; a brother, Sam Joe Allison and a sister, Rosa Lee Allison.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Rev. Wilhemeina E. Allison and his two children: Charles Patrick Allison (Rebecca) of McBee, SC and Khadija Abdulla Allison of Goose Creek, SC; six grandchildren: Keyerra Allison, William Allison, Mia Allison, John Henry Rogers, IV, Ja’kayla Alisha Rogers and Queen Naomi Rogers; brothers: Jimmy Ray Allison, Jimmy Lee Allison; sisters: Jessie Bell Allison (Willie) Collins of Georgia; Elisa (Charlie) Cotton of Plainfield, NJ and Peggy Allison; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
