Bruce A. Graves, 70, departed this life on Saturday, December 23, 2023. Born July 28, 1953, in Mullins, South Carolina he was the son of the late Daniel and Dorothy Graves. Bruce accepted Christ at an early age and attended Historic Mt. Olive Baptist Church where he sang with the Men’s Choir, helped as a volunteer with the church’s Soup Kitchen and led the Men’s Usher Board.
Bruce was a graduate of the 1971 class of Mullins High School. Bruce later went on to attend the Historically Black College and University of South Carolina State. He would graduate in 1975 with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering. Bruce was employed with Lockheed Martin in Atlanta, Georgia and later with AVM in Marion, South Carolina.
Bruce leaves behind a daughter Nicole Jennings-Boykins (Ja’Coby, Sr.) of Blythewood, SC. A son: Brian A. Graves of Laurel, MD from his marriage to Debra Graves-Latson. Bruce also leaves behind 3 grandsons: Christopher Daniel Grant, Ja’CobyAnthony Boykins, Jr. and Ja’Sean Antonio Boykins of Blythewood, SC. A host of other family members including; two aunts: RomelleGraves of Mullins SC and Barbara Butler (John) of Hartford, CT; one uncle: Ernest Graves of Mullins, SC, a very special cousin:Carolyn Graves of Mullins, SC along with many other beloved cousins.
