~ The Obituary ~
Ms. Sylvia Ann Oliver was born on April 24, 1951 to her parents, Inez W. Green and Sammie Green. She left this earthly place and went to live in her eternal home on Monday, December 17, 2018 at MUSC in Charleston, South Carolina. She attended Finklea High School in 1968. She was a cook at Pizza Shak for over thirty years until she retired in 2004.
Sylvia was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church for most of her youth until she later joined Mill Creek Baptist Church. Sylvia lived in Conway, South Carolina. She was a very caring, nurturing, loving person with a gentle spirit. She loved singing and listening to gospel music. Her favorite song was “Ride Out Your Storm”.
Sylvia was loved by many people and she never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her father: Sammie Green; her brother: Sammie Jr. Green; her sister: Jeanette Green-Haynesworth and her grandparents: Marion and Minnie White.
She leaves behind to mourn her is her beloved mother, Inez W. Green of Mullins, SC; her six children whom she loved dearly: Valarie Lashawn Osias of Sea Brook, NH, Don Curtis Oliver, Darrette Oliver and Dewayne Oliver all of Conway, South Carolina, Corneisha Oliver of Austell, GA and Dior Oliver of Norfolk, VA; nineteen grandchildren: Sheree Johnson, Renica Osias, Antonio Johnson, Asmara Osias, Camry Bennett, malik Sanders, Torah Osias, Markeice Oliver, Cayelenn Oliver, Noah Osias, Vinsoni Bennett, Vinson Bennett, Jr., Jaden Oliver, Jaiquan Brown, Janae Brown, Ariel Young, Jalyne Oliver, Zaevrien Oliver, and Gabriella Oliver; one brother: Bobby Green of Myrtle Beach, SC; four sisters: Carolyn Ghram of Charlotte, NC, Idell Miles of Florence, SC, Christine Hodge of Loris, SC and Sherby Gure of Tennessee; a very close cousin: Minnie Ruth Oliver of Winston Salem, NC and host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
