     Joe Nathan Davis, the son of the late Nathan Grice and Lillie Mae Davis, was born June 29, 1950 in Mullins, South Carolina. He departed this life on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Blue Ridge of Sumter, South Carolina after an illness.

     Joe Nathan was educated in the Marion County School System, and graduated with the class of 1971 from Palmetto High School. Joe Nathan received his Minister License in 2009. He attended Progressive Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ and The Strait-Gate Church. Minister Joe loved doing Noon Day Service at New Covenant Church, Mullins, South Carolina.

     Minister Joe Nathan was a loving and caring person that loved the Lord and his family. He was a great prayer warrior, a man of faith and he loved teaching the scriptures to others. He loved landscaping and helping other people. He never met a stranger and when you saw him he always had a word for you from God and the most beautiful smile on his face. Minister Joe will be missed by those who knew him.

     Those that preceded him in death; parents: Nathan Grice and Lillie Mae Davis; two brothers: Bobby Charles Davis and Douglas Davis and a loving friend Ms. Linda Miller (mother of his children).

     He leaves to cherish his loving memories four daughters: Joann D. (Jerry) Cole of Columbia, SC, Sandie D. Davis, Sharon M. Davis and Victoria Miller all of Mullins, SC; four sisters: Peggy D. Reynolds of Pompano Beach, FL, Terry S. Davis, Cletha Mae Davis, Jean Carolyn Williams all of Mullins, SC; two brothers: Russell Jackson of Florence, SC and Johnny (Betty) Pernell of Zion, SC; one very special son-in-law: Jerry A. Cole; one sister-in-law: Betty Pernell of Zion, SC; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren who he loved. Fond memories will always remain with his closest family and friends.
