Gwendolyn Johnson Obituary

~ The Obituary ~

“And God shall wipe all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying. Neither shall there be any more pain for the former things are passed away.”                                                                           Revelation 21:4

Gwendolyn Jannette Johnson’s journey of life became a reality on November 16, 1980 in Mullins, South Carolina. This bouncy, beautiful bundle of joy was delivered to Ralph and Vera Johnson of Lake View, South Carolina.

“Gwen” as she was affectionately called was articulate and intelligent. She excelled throughout her academic studies and chose business as her career path. Family was paramount to Gwen! She was the middle child with “Big Brother – Lance Johnson and Little Sister TaVera Johnson completing the trio. Her beloved son, William Jerome Johnson-Jackson was the light of her life. She reassured him of how much she loved and adored him. His name “William Jerome” (a strong willed warrior, holy/sacred) was chosen with intent and purpose. Gwen desired the best for William and believed in education. She completed the last mile of her life’s journey on June 14, 2018 in Washington, DC.

Memories to cherish: Ralph Johnson, father; Vera Johnson, mother; Frances Baker, surrogate mother; William J.J. Jackson, son; Lance Johnson, brother; TaVera Johnson, sister; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

*Life is not determined by the length of time a woman liveth, but by the service she gives as she lives.
