Carolyn Crosland

~ Obituary ~

     Ms. Carolyn Crosland was born on February 17, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Zannie Crosland and Ruth Clara Stackhouse Crosland. She was preceded in death by her brother, Don Gray Crosland. She was a member of Hill Chapel Baptist Church where she remained active until her health declined.

     She graduated from Finklea High School, Finklea, South Carolina and Morris College, Sumter, South Carolina. She attended graduate school at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia and the University of South Carolina, Conway, South Carolina. She worked as an educator in Dillon and Horry counties teaching science and mathematics until retirement. She continued to serve as a volunteer in Horry County Schools. She enjoyed participating in events sponsored by the Finklea Alumni Association, tutoring, attending movies and reciting poetry.

     Ms. Crosland leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Seleah Crosland and grandson, Chandler Crosland of the home; four brothers: Wade (Daisy) Crosland of Riverdale, Maryland, Levon (Patricia) Crosland of Greenbelt, Maryland, Matthew (Diane) Crosland of Loris, South Carolina and Darl (Dell) Crosland of Little River, South Carolina. She also leaves a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and devoted loved ones.
