Robert McClain

~ The Obituary ~

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and bot faint.                                                                                Isaiah 40:31

     Robert Lee McClain, son of the late Aleatheria McClain and Lawrence Gilchrist, was born September 8th, 1948 and departed this life on May 21, 2017 at his home in Winston Salem, North Carolina.

     Robert was educated in the Columbus School System in Lake View, South Carolina. He worked for several different companies in Bridgeport, Connecticut and relocated and settled in Winston Salem.

     Robert was known as “Bla-ce” and “Hoody” to all his friends whom he enjoyed dearly. He didn’t visit home often but when he did he visited everyone.

     He leaves to cherish fond memories four sisters: Eula Jean Page of Laurel, Maryland, Denise McClellan, Stephanie McClain and Phyllis (Dan) Dixon all of Lake View, South Carolina; one brother: Lawrence (Vanessa) Brunson of Florence, South Carolina and a special friend, (close as a brother) Johnny Ingram of Winston Salem, North Carolina. He will also be remembered by a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
