Welcome to the memorial page for

Joe Oliver

June 14, 2016

Mr. Joe Nasow Oliver entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in McLeod Loris Hospital. He was born in the James L. Martin Hospital in Mullins, South Carolina.

He was the son of the late Don (Addie Washington) Oliver, who preceded him in death.

Joe “Bubba” Oliver received his education from Floyd High School.

He accepted Christ at an early age as his personal savior and joined the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the church choir and male choir until he departed. He was known as “Bubba” or “Joe Kool” to everyone. He was affectionate, loving, and caring. “Bubba” met no stranger, he loved everyone and he would quickly say “JC takes care of my needs” and Lord knows he did. He had his special crew that gathered every Sunday they were very devoted to each other.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Eula Mas Streater and one brother Herbert Mack Washington.

“Joe Kool” leaves to cherish his loving memories, two daughters: Marie Oliver, Pleasant View, SC and Retonika Scott of Laverville, GA; four sons: Jocy (Rhonda) Scott of Columbia, SC, Bryan Scott of Davidboro, GA, Corey (Rebecca) Scott and Rico Scott of Watertown, NY; fifteen grands and two great grands; one grandson: Calvin Hagans whom he raised as a son; one brother: Don Oliver; two sisters: Doretha (Nathaniel) Livingston and Daisy (Larry) Jones all of Pleasant View, SC; five aunts: Everlena Oliver, Earnestine Jackson, Martha Polite and Doris Isaiah all of Loris, SC; three uncles: Wallace Oliver of Winston Salem, NC, Carlis Oliver of Stewart, VA, Wilbur McCray of Loris, SC; four brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law; his special friends “Tag Team on Sundays”; a host of other nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
