Jacob Boston Hemingway known as “Pop” & “JB” was born November 29, 1939 to the late Zone and Annie Hemingway. He entered into eternal rest September 08, 2016 at Brookdale Hospital, Brooklyn, New York.
“JB” attended Bethel School System in Britton’s Neck, South Carolina and later joined Bethel AME Church. He moved to Brooklyn, New York and then relocated back to Britton’s Neck, South Carolina. “JB” was employed at Conway Medical Center for several years until his health failed him.
“JB” is preceded in death by his daughter; Terria Denise Hemingway, five sisters: Mary Willis, Ellen Gause, Elouise Woodberry, Louise Hemingway, and Grace Hemingway and two brothers: Sam and Zone Hemingway.
“JB” leave cherish memories of his loving wife: Mary Ruth Hemingway; six children: Joseph Hemingway, Mary Woodberry, Scott (Deana) Hemingway all of Britton’s Neck, South Carolina; Tamica (Jonathan) Dozier of Suffolk, Virginia; and Lindee Pressley of Lawrenceville, Georgia; three sisters: Annie Bell Hemingway of Brooklyn, New York; Linda Hemingway and Joan Hemingway of Britton’s Neck, South Carolina; one special aunt, Creola Ceasar, of Britton’s Neck, South Carolina; 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, nine sister-in-law’s, three brother-in-law’s; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
