~ The Obituary ~

The Lord is my Shephard and I shall not want.

     Creola Rebecca Graves Dozier Ceasar departed this life on October 24, 2017. She left a legacy of love and faith in this mortal world. Her life was well spent in love and service to her family and the church and the community.

     Creola Rebecca Graves Dozier Ceasar was the daughter of the late Mr. John and Ellen Bacchus Graves. She was born on March 22, 1918 in Marion County. She was the ninth child born in the home. Nine siblings preceded her in death, she was the last one. All together there were fifteen children in the family.

     She was converted at the age of 13 and became a member of Bethel AME Church. She worked and gave her service where ever it was needed in the church, with her family and community. She served in many capacities: President of Senior Choir #1, President of the Society of People, People Benevolent, Worthy Matron of Eastern Star (31 Years), Class Leader, Secretary of the Church, Senior Steward Board, Mother of the Church, Steward ProTem. Her work was done in love and with a smile.

     She was educated in Britton’s Neck High School.

     She was married to the late Mr. Willie E. Dozier in 1934 and to this union one child was born, the late Mrs. Nina M. Davis.

     Later she married the late Mr. Lonnie Ceasar in 1950 and gained one step son: the late Mr. Jimmie Ceasar.

     Don’t worry about me, let me rest: Charles (Melissa) Dozier, Sharon (Anthony) Williams of Gresham, SC; Dale (Pierre) Davis of Georgia; Thurman (Elaine) Davis of Marion, SC; Angie (Mitchell) Graves of Gresham, SC; six great grandchildren, thirteen great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews; one who came as a daughter: Edna Graves.
