Clara Wheeler

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith…”   II Timothy 4:7

     Clara Mae Williams Wheeler was born October 4, 1936 in Marion County to the late Robert J. Williams (known as Jonah Buie) and the late Gether Davis Williams. Clara departed this life on April 12, 2017 at the Carolinas Hospital in Florence, SC.

     Clara was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Bishop George C. Wheeler and this union was blessed with eight children, one daughter Gether L. Wheeler preceded her in death. Clara was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ at a very young age. She had a very strong spirit and helped anyone she could. She loved the Lord and her family unconditionally. She raised two grandsons: Gregory K. Sanders, Jr. and Rha’Shied J. Sanders after their mother passed away. Rha’Shied later preceded her in death. Two sisters: Catherine Williams-Stewart and Dorothy Williams-Williams; three brothers: Robert Williams, Jr., Mallie Williams and Vernal Williams also preceded her in death.

     She leaves to cherish fond memories her children: George (Eva Mae) Wheeler, Jr., Joseph L. (Betty) Wheeler, Joyce (Calvin) Legette, Mae F. (Donald) Mason, Patricia (Kennis) Wheeler, CasSandra Wheeler-Ross, Eva (Leroy) Braddy; one sister: Minnie R. Littles of Mullins, SC; one uncle: Jessie Johnson of Temperance Hill, SC; two sisters-in-law: Rose Wheeler of Baltimore, MD and Majorie Williams Smith of Mullins, SC; 30 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, 10 Great-Great Grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
